Why Profit Matters: The Top Reasons Why Female Entrepreneurs Need to Focus on the Bottom Line

May 01, 20233 min read

As a female entrepreneur, I think it's pretty safe to assume you are passionate about your business and that you may be driven by a desire to make a positive impact on the world?

While these are amazing aspirations, and ones that I also have, they shouldn't come at the expense of profitability. In fact, making a profit is essential to the success and sustainability of your business. Without making a profit, your business simply won’t survive.

It's important to note that profitability is not just about making money, but also about creating a solid financial foundation for your business. By focusing on profitability, you can ensure that your business has the resources it needs to continue growing and making a positive impact. This might mean at times making difficult decisions or making changes to your business model, but ultimately it will help you build a successful and sustainable business.

Here I am sharing my top reasons why you should put Profit First.

⚡️ Stability:

Profit provides the financial stability that allows your business to weather tough times ( hello 2020)  and invest in growth opportunities. Without profit, your business will struggle to cover expenses, pay salaries, or secure funding for expansion.

⚡️ Growth:

Profit is essential for business growth. Even if you don't have plans to scale your business ( that's okay, not everyone wants to) but every business needs to grow and develop in it's own way. It allows you to reinvest in your business, develop new products or services, and expand premises or hire staff. Without profits, you can’t grow and compete with other businesses in your industry.

⚡️ Personal financial security:

As a business owner, your personal financial security is tied to your business's profitability. If your business is not profitable, it can impact your personal finances and future prospects. One of my own goals is to make as much profit in my business so that I can then grow my person wealth.

⚡️ Choice:

When you focus are making a profit, it gives you choices. I don't know any entrepreneur who doesn't want freedom. Profit gives you more space for freedom & choice. You can make better decisions for your business. By tracking your expenses and revenue, you can look at areas where you can cut costs or increase revenue.

⚡️ Increased value:

A profitable business makes you more valuable to potential buyers, and other investors. Even if selling isn’t on the cards for you just yet, what is the long term plan for your business? A profitable business can command a higher price down the line.

⚡️ Social impact:

Making a profit also allows you to have a positive social impact. I’m so passionate about giving back to local causes and charities close to my heart. Having a profitable business allows me to give generously.

In conclusion, profit is not a dirty word – it's an essential element of a successful and sustainable business.

As a female entrepreneur, it's important to focus on your bottom line and make sure your business is profitable in the long run. By doing so, you can achieve financial stability, grow your business, live the life of your dreams, all whilst making a positive impact on the world!

Phew! Talk about bossing it! 🙌🏻
